Viewers anywhere in the world can watch Fields lectures live or on demand. Developed as a way for the Institute to work together with our partner universities and the scientific community, FieldsLive makes Fields lectures and courses accessible to a global audience. It also provides two unique features that make the viewing experience more like being present in the room: the ability to zoom in and out on specific areas of the blackboards or screens, and the ability (if pre-arranged) for remote participants to speak and ask questions during the lecture.
Features of FieldsLive
Lectures that are being streamed live will appear below once the event is underway; simply click on the links below (once they appear) to watch live. A few days after the event, lectures will appear in our video archive. While watching, you may take advantage of two unique FieldsLive features:
- Personalized views: click to zoom in or out or pan from side to side. This feature is particularly useful for blackboard talks, giving you the ability to choose which section of the board you want to see.
- Interactive remote participation: During live streaming of select events (where the speaker is prepared to handle remote questions), pre-arranged participants can ask questions and make comments from remote locations. All that is required is a webcam, web browser with Flash Player plugin, and a "remote speaking permission code" which must be requested at least two business days prior to the event by sending an e-mail with name and academic affiliation to
